Gang Clearly I've done something wrong, almost certainly arising from mistaken assumptions carried over from the last OF install I did on version 1.n.
Essentially I took a newly downloaded iso of 2.2, installed it to a spare machine, selected defaults all the way except for regionalisations etc. The system has 4 * 250gb hard disks running off an adaptec controller. All disks were recognised: Disk Druid auto partitioning left me with free space on several of the disks - an assignment which I deliberately did not modify manually in order to see what happened. Must say I wasn't too happy to find that the autopartitioning is distributing the various mount points and 2 swap files around the system, instead of putting it all onto the first HD and leaving the rest for file store, but that's minor stuff and I can live with that for testing purposes. Install duly completed successfully without errors. On reboot I can access the https UI from another machine without problems, and login as root; however I am NOT getting the full admin UI. Essentially I see 4 tabs only, Quotas, Password, Languages and Logout. There are no volumes listed and I cannot get at any other administration controls in order to make changes. The web UI, when logged in, has the caption "Home/Your Account" instead of the expected "Home/Administration" Either I've done something really stupid during install or OF is having undeclared or non-obvious problems. Meanwhile the docs for version 2 and above /seem/ to suggest that one should allow Disk Druid to take care of all disk/partition management during the installation, unlike earlier 1.n versions where manual partitioning was required. The latest docs I've read so far don't appear to help me [haven't read everything yet], and the FAQs don't appear to address these points either. As far as I can tell I've followed the installation instructions to the letter. Any clues about what might be going on here? Helpful hints etc? I've backtracked the messages here for the last 3-4 months but so far I can't seen anything that points me in the right direction.
