When editing share permissions the 'sub-window' which displays group
permissions below the radio control for "public or controlled access"
needs a complete redesign.

1] It's impossibly difficult to handle when there are lots of groups
and where the group names as inherited from AD/LDAP are lengthy. On my
test system I have more than 60 groups, some names are so long that the
column holding the group mnames is wider than the window presented for
editing purposes; which means that for each and every one of these
groups I have to scroll left to right and back again to reset the
relevant permissions.

This scrolling window within the page does not resize at all, and
occupies only about 50% of the width of the screen territory on my
1200/1024 monitor and significantly less than that on my 1600/1200
monitor; this is seriously ineficient use of screen territory.

Like the selections for Account Groups and Account Users mentioned in a
previous message, one should have the option to display all records
rather than displaying in a vertical scroll-box, and width should be
dynamic so as to fit all the content into the window without the need
for L/R scrolling. One should also be able to multi-select operations.

The bottom line is that one should be able to see understand all groups
and permissions at a glance.

2] System time problems

With system time synchronised to pool.ntp.org, and timezone set to
Etc/GMT0 but with UTC option unticked, the system absolutely refuses
point blank to display or set the correct time in the "Set system clock
manually" pane - setting the time 1 hour ahead of real time. Any files
saved to the published shares are timestamped with the wrong time.

Robert.
