Hello all!
As directed by someone on the IRC channel I am sending this question out on the
mailing list. So here goes.
I am a new user to OF and am currently running v2.2 on a test box. I am doing
this to see if OF does what I need before I reinstall it on a more robust box
with multiple drives.
My current test box is setup with 1 40gig drive that I used about 10gig for the
OF OS and the remaining 30 free to configure a volume to use for storage. Once
OF was installed I went thru the basic setup and joined OF to my domain. I
then enabled LDAP and created Groups/Users(2 groups with 1 user in each). I
set the network access to the subnet for 2 of my subnets to have access and
then I set up the volumes and shares(3 volumes with 1 share in each). I also
set quotas on the volumes as well as groups and users. I set primary group for
the shares and 1 of the 3 shares I set as a "controlled" share while the other
2 shares I left open for public. I also set the network and user level
permissions.
>From my workstation on my domain I can browse "Network Places" and see the OF
>box and its shares. I can access the public shares and create folders and sub
>folders...files etc. However I cannot access the controlled share. When I
>try I always get "Access Denied". I dont get a username/password box..just
>the error message. However when I try to map a drive letter to a controlled
>access share I get something to the effect of..."The network folder specified
>is currently mapped using a different username and password. To
>connect...please disconnect....the current mapping...etc etc." I can map
>public shares just as I can access them from the network.
Again I am very new to OF and my linux experience is rather low. But I can
"hack" my way around if given ample instruction or documentation. So any help
would be grately appreciated....even if its pointing to a discussion or how-to
on the net that I have somehow overlooked the past couple of days while
searching for a solution.
Thanks,
JB
