I have installed Openfiler *Distro Release* *GUI Version* *Openfiler
NAS/SAN Appliance 2.2 * *2.2.r1227-3-1*

In authentication i selected one my NT 4 based PDC . I also have some linux
machines on the network .

Issues:

1) For my windows machine Openfiler is not not showing all the users from
the NT PDC . I can see all the groups imported but groups re not showing
member users . some groups are showing incomplete list missing some users
some not showing any group member . All users list is also incomplete.

2) To access storage shares from my linux clients I decided to create a user
manually on the openfiler machine called "cacrus" , The user was created
and goup was assigned users .

Openfiler does not show users local group in the groups list , so i decided
to create a group manually called cacrus and than openfiler was showing it
in the group list .

Than i created a share with Controlled Access called cacrus and assigned it
PG and RW permissions . In host access config I gave this share local
network access for NFS RW , rest none.

This share and folder was created on the filesystem with following
permissions

drwxrws--- 2 nobody cacrus
this is the line added in /etc/exports

/mnt/nas/backup/test
192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0(rw,root_squash,secure,sync)<http://192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0%28rw,root_squash,secure,sync%29>

Now i mount this share fine , but can not access it as the permissions on
the foder are nobody:cacrus . IOn client machine i have same cacrus:cacrus
users with matching UID and GID .

When i manually change the permission from nobody:cacrus to cacrus:cacrus .
i can access the share fine from client . unfortunately openfiler changes
this ownership in case someone edits this share again in future .

How can i avoid this , why openfiler is assigning nobody as user ?

I will really appreciate your response.
