It doesn't appear that AMD Powernow! support is included in the default OF
kernel as "cpufreq" isn't included. Any way this could be added to both the
AMD64 and X86 recipes ? (i hope that is the correct term ;)
For reference, the difference in idle power usage on a distro that supports it
seems to be about 25W (75W vs 100W total on 3800+ X2 w/san storage) and
negligble (if any) performance penalty. Tried with Windows on the same box,
same results.
I think it's worth it, even for a dedicated storage appliance.
