Hello,
First off, I'm not a Linux expert, nor have I ever done any driver
development.
Now for my problem:
I would like to try out OpenFiler but I can't get a working driver for
the LSI 8888ELP SAS PCI-E RAID card or the Adaptec onboard RAID adapter
(ESRB2 driver). I can't run FreeNAS either for the same reason. I don't
think there are any drivers for rPath linux available (definitely not on
LSI's website) and FreeBSD has little driver support. The onboard isn't
a huge deal but it is imperative that the 8888ELP is supported. I saw
there is a new version of OpenFiler coming out soon. You guys think it
might have some built in driver support?
Have you tried the updated kernel?
So long as you're not putting your root/boot partitions on the LSI
controller, you should be fine.
So install as normal, boot up, update all packages then update the kernel:
conary update mkinitrd
conary update iscsi_trgt
conary update [EMAIL PROTECTED]:kernel-test
