Quoting [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
Thanks for your Help. I had not known about DRDB. It looks like it could be a solution for me. Originally, I was thinking of having two OF nodes and 2 D-Link storage devices (which use Ethernet connections) that would provide HA and load balancing. I could be wrong, but it looks like DRBD cannot provide the load balancing - which I may just live without for now.
DRBD doesn't even provide total HA really. Other add ons like Heartbeat can work on a DRBD system to provide the missing pieces. As far as the load balancing goes, I don't think you can achieve true load balancing on a storage system. Unless you were using something like DFS which isn't really true load balancing anyways.
The question still remains: will OF recognize the ethernet based D-Link storage device? In the long run this may be an cheaper solution, since it seems to me that I will need to, using DRDB, replicate my hard drive space on the other OF box.
Why use this device at all? If DRBD is replicating your storage to another system, why not save money and use an internal sata hd?
Again, thanks for all of your help.
