I am having a couple issues getting openfiler to be useable from a Windows
domain.
I have set the Authentication tab to "Use Windows domain and authentication"
but have NOT set the "Use LDAP" settings.
Windows Active Directory is already LDAP.
When I click on list groups and see my windows groups pre-pended with the
NetBIOS name and a "+" sign.
When I click on list users I see all of my windows users - also pre-pended
with the NetBIOS name and a "+" sign.
When I click on a group name in the list of groups, there are no members
displayed in the list.
When I look in the AD Users and Computers, the openfiler box is listed.
This seems to indicate that communications are working, but when I click on
the Account Administration tab I receive a red warning to configure the LDAP
settings on the Authentication tab.
Even though the "Use Windows ." seems to establish a connection, when the
authentication page refreshes, the user name is displaying "Administrator"
again. I do not have an account named Administrator. The first thing I do
with any Windows install is to rename that account.
1. Is the Use LDAP really necessary in a Windows AD domain?
2. Is there a GOOD instruction somewhere relating to what exactly is needed
in those fields?
(a.) Using the information returned by "GetMyDN.exe" does not work.
3. What is the cost of "Commercial Support" on openfiler?
4. My Web interface is on a public IP - anybody want to take a look?
Thank you,
