You cannot install OpenFiler on Via C3, AMD K6-x, or Intel Pentium (including those with MMX) processors because they are i586 processors and OpenFiler requires an i686 system (it's right there in the name of the kernel). If your device actually uses a Via C7 processor then it should work fine as that has the CMOV instruction, making it an i686 chip.

But I've been banging my head against the wall for two days trying to figure it out how to and so far I am in square one. I've read that the kernel 2.6.19.7-0.3.smp.gcc3.4.x86.i686 (SMP) should work fine, but how should I proceed ? Where I can get that kernel ? I know I can get the 2.6.19.7 vanilla but what else should I do ? Thanks a lot for any pointers, andres
