Hello,

Being in the process of ( building | buying ) a 3TB SAN (at least
iscsi in the beginning, Fiber channel is highly probable), I'm very
interested in openfiler.

Currently, I have a proposition for a hardware + software SAN which is
very far from cheap.
My opinion is that a storage server (something like an HP DL 185 with
12 hard drives) with openfiler could save us a lot, but will it
satisfy our needs ?

We need :
* CIFS + NFS NAS mode for some parts : seems OK, but is it possible to
combine CIFS + NFS on the same data ?

* Snapshots (ok via lvm).

* iscsi target support : ok

* fiber channel support : seems ok by reading
https://www.openfiler.com/about ("Fibre channel and iSCSI target
features provide excellent integration capabilities for virtualization
environments such as Xen and VMware"). Is Fiber channel target mode
really supported out of the box ? Is it documented in the 2.3
administrator guide ?

Thanks in advance,
