Sorry Ibrahim, but it looks like the directions you've found are *ancient* and that's why you're having problems. We will try to update the documentation on our side (particularly the http://yuba.stanford.edu/foswiki/bin/view/OpenFlow/Deployment/HOWTO/Virtual is very out of date), but in the short term:
The http://www.openflow.org/wk/index.php/FlowVisor_run link shows how to download and configure the modern (0.7.2) FlowVisor. Also, you were using OpenFlow VMS, a virtualization system that has been replaced by mininet. Yes, it is absolutely possible to run FlowVisor on mininet... just use the modern FlowVisor directions above and not the ones you had found. If you have problems with a modern FlowVisor on Mininet, please feel free to send mail again.
