Hi, http://ylb.jp/EOSDev/OpenFlowUS/OpenFlowUSmode.html - a very good writeup on how to run OpenFlow on Arista switch. I am a newbie and trying to do something similar with another vendor's switch and would like your help to answer these obvious questions.
1) My switch does not send back any un-known packet as a packet_in event to the NOX controller. Instead it floods it to all the connected links. Any idea what may be going wrong. 2) Is it necessary to disable STP on the OpenFlow ports. 3) Is it necessary to have all the OpenFlow ports as part of seperate VLAN from the controller. Could'nt we have used --out-of-band argument for openflowd to connect to the controller. What is the reason for the two seperate VLANs. -- With best regards, Bhaskar.
