Hi All,

"Many vendors are rolling out a controller because it is the core of an
OpenFlow-enabled network. It sits between network devices at one end, and a
set of applications at the other. Applications communicate with the
controller to request network services. The controller uses the OpenFlow
protocol to configure network devices and choose the optimal path through
the network for application traffic" --*networkcomputing.com*

Up to my knowledge Controller is a software not a protocol. I feel there
should be a means of standardizing the control design if so, "*what are the
minimum information required by the controller to configure the traffic or
implement traffic flow policies ?*

Openflow/SDN Geeks please shed your knowledge on this!

Thanks,
Shashaa
