Hi,

The control plane for the OF switch is running in the controller. The OF switch
will proxy control-plane packets between the controller and the non-OpenFlow
switches (via packet-in, packet-out OF messages). The controller software
understands the routing exchange, and installs OF flows to the switch
accordingly.

Subject: [openflow-discuss] help

Hi, all

I have a question about the openflow protocol. I have read the specification
but I am wondering how a traditional switch communicate with a switch that only
supports openflow protocol. Because I didn't see any mechanism to deal with
routing table information exchanges. Do I miss something? I'd really appreciate
your help!
