Hi-

I'm excited to announce a new project: Indigo Virtual Switch (IVS).
IVS is a lightweight, high-performance vSwitch built from the ground
up to support the OpenFlow protocol. It has been tested with the
Floodlight controller and we welcome further testing on other
controllers as well.

IVS is based on the "Indigo2" framework
(www.github.com/floodlight/indigo). We created IVS to meet the needs
of large-scale deployments, and we didn’t need the overhead of
traditional networking stacks. We wanted a thin, lightweight OpenFlow
speaker that just worked, and scaled up with low latency and
multi-threading.

IVS development is still quite early but we are releasing it now to
invite collaborators and contributors to helping us improve the
project.

As always please send out any questions, we are here to help.

thanks!
