[Sorry if you receive multiple copies] Hello!
We are announcing the release of OpenVirteX 0.0.1-prealpha (http://www.openvirtex.org), a new network virtualisation platform. OpenVirteX allows you to virtualize OpenFlow networks and create virtual networks which are themselves programmable via OpenFlow (i.e. You can stick your favourite controller here!). We are introducing the concept of a virtual Software Defined Network. OpenVirtex currently has the ability to: - dynamically create, stop, destroy virtual networks - virtual link resiliency - virtual giant switch resiliency - and a few more things We also hope to add the following features in the not too distant future: - OF 1.x support (both south and north bound) - Virtual Network Pausing - Virtual Network Snapshotting and Migration - Intra and Extra virtual network connectivity. While we are releasing, we are in no way claiming that it is ready for large scale deployments. In fact, we fully expect to find many bugs and furthermore we hope that you will help us fix them. Finally, check out our website (http://www.openvirtex.org) to get access to the code, see our development process, or simply read our documentation to get a better idea what OpenVirteX is all about. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via ovx-disc...@googlegroups.com or via the web interface (https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!forum/ovx-discuss). -- OpenVirteX team at ON.Lab!
