This also means that we cannot use JDK8 for Beryllium autorelease, as the resulting yang-maven-plugin will not be usable with JDK7…

For example this patch: https://github.com/opendaylight/releng-builder/commit/a0698da4a47a9ff477dd060cf6bc721c8792d95a changes jjb template for YANGTools to build using jdk8 for Boron. Even if no code does use Java 8 features set, when our custom maven plugins (karaf-plugin, yang-maven-plugin) are deployed into Nexus, Maven captures classpath of plugin and breaks build if classpath is changed. During YANGTools merge, Maven captured JDK8 classpath (which contains additional classes, even if we do not use them) for YANG Maven Plugin and dissabled execution with following error on JDK7: [ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.opendaylight.yangtools:yang-maven-plugin:0.9.0-SNAPSHOT:generate-sources (default) on project model-parent: Execution default of goal org.opendaylight.yangtools:yang-maven-plugin:0.9.0-SNAPSHOT:generate-sources failed: A required class was missing while executing org.opendaylight.yangtools:yang-maven-plugin:0.9.0-SNAPSHOT:generate-sources: java/util/function/Consumer [ERROR] ----------------------------------------------------- [ERROR] realm = plugin>org.opendaylight.yangtools:yang-maven-plugin:0.9.0-SNAPSHOT From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Thanh Ha Sent: Wednesday, January 20, 2016 5:58 AM To: Abhijit Kumbhare <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Cc: openflowplugin-dev <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: Re: [openflowplugin-dev] validate-autorelease jobs broken by openflowplugin Looks like the revert didn't fix the compile issue. Upon closer look seems like the compile issue is only affecting JDK7. Did someone merge a change that only works in JDK8? Maybe an upstream project? I think this patch should likely be reverted though because openflowplugin's merge job is currently failing so seems like something is broken by this patch that wasn't caught but I'll leave that decision to the project.
