Subject: Re: [openflowplugin-dev] NetIDE patch comments

Yes Luis, this is what i was trying to explain. We should have generic
interfaces for external application that allows them to subscribe for the OF
messages from specific switch and a notification mechanism to deliver the OF
messages. I think Alex also agrees to that but he need some pointers on how it
can be achieved with the current architecture.

Jozef will you have some time to suggest pointers to Alex on how we can achieve
that in the lithium plugin code base? I will also try to look at it sometime
today and provide my comments.

Thanks
Anil

Regardless the OF applications coexistence, I think there is probably value in
extending the ofplugin to provide low level (e.g. wire) access for applications
while plugin is still functional. If that is the case I would prefer to see a
framework or standard solution for this, i.e. not just something that only
works for NetIDE.

Abhijit,

Thanks for the agenda slot today and the comments from your team. I attach the
slides I presented during the meeting. I would ask if reviewers could take a
quick look at the patch [1] and provide feedback.

By adding this functionality to the openflowplugin-southbound feature, it means
that additional client SDN controllers can be supported in parallel to existing
ODL apps. But by moving to a separate feature, it means that all openflowplugin
apps and ODL applications will no longer work. I'm trying to avoid this.

Thanks,
Alec.
