I've generated a test case. The original a is attached as Testa.sfd. When I run the script fonttopfb.ff (which essentially just contains a simplify command), then an extra point is added at the top of the curve. The output is in Untitled1.pfb. The version of FontForge that I'm using is 20070501, the rpm from your site. However, when I do simplify from within the GUI, simplify works as expected. Should I be passing some flags to simplify when calling from a script? None of the flags listed in the documentation seemed like they should make a difference. As a quick aside, is there any way to either get the date in a FontForge script, or to run a shell command and capture the output as a string (like the way backticks work in shell scripts)? Thanks! Stephen
