I would prefer to see both: (1) meta data in font files clearly identifies the license and (2) Separate text file called "license.txt" or "LICENSE.txt" or "LICENSE" in the downloaded package also clearly identifies the license ... In any case, if the license/copyright field in the font files themselves lack the information, then software like Fontaine can't make any automated determination . - Ed
