So actually I would not really care as long as it is >= 240, but since it is an important _exception_ temp. allocating some more bytes if neccessary shouldn't hurt, I think. I size limit needs to be there, since we do not know in advance what the scm makers come up with/have the time to test every new scm release in deep...
