It treats a lot of special characters as white space and ignores case so z is 
in the index not the ':....'
Most of the time this approach works great.

+ - = (Plus Minus and Equal) signs are indexed as separate words.

Searching for a quoted phrase like "z =" looks for them to be adjacent white 
space delimited words.
