Hi Lubos

I removed the tilde and replaced it with underscore in the project names. That
seems to have resolved the issue.
But, once big problem now is that I see 2 entries for each project one with
tilde and one with underscore.

I ran the indexer again but that didn't help.

The Index directory has 2 folders one with tile and the other with underscore.

Any suggestions on cleaning this up.

Thanks
Shailey

Hi Lubos

I have raised the defect , defect id 19209.
In the meantime can you explain to me a little more about what the problem is
exactly.
You mentioned it could be something to do with lucene; how exactly does lucene
work in relation to this issue.
Also, if '~' is the issue , should we replace this with some other symbol.

Well, it's a bug, seems (have to verify with current trunk) we don't properly
escape ~ and lucene has ~ as special character for search query
if you look at http://src.opensolaris.org/source/help.jsp , check the special
chars section

We usually use "-" to split names and branches in internal grok
(seems same case on src.opensolaris.org)

We want to maintain opengrok projects with the name and branch, so please
suggest a workaround for this issue.

Thanks
Shailey

It looks like this is happening for all files in this project. Error comes up

ok, so it's even worse, I originally thought just the search is affected
but this looks like xref is affected too

I think the trigger is " ~1.3 "
(where ~10 is above 1.x string wise so it seems like this might boil down to a
lucene prob in search , but in xref it's definitely bug in opengrok)

so ... worth filing and please include the info from this mail
I will try to reproduce with current trunk (which has latest lucene, so search
might be fixed just by the upgrade, but xref prob will still be there)

thank you
Lubos

But the following works fine:
