I realized I wasn't clear on your second point. What you want to do (if I understand your question) is called "neighboring." For example, terminal A registered to GnuGK wants to call terminal B registered to OtherGK.
1. Terminal A dials "B". GnuGK checks its registrations and sees that "B" is not among them; 2. So it queries its neighbors, including OtherGK. 3. OtherGK replies to GnuGK that it has "B" and sends call setup info back to GnuGK. 4. GnuGK gives it to "A", and "A" connects to "B". There are a lot of possible routing configurations you might choose. The most common would be to have the GKs handle the call setup, and then all the video and audio traffic goes directly between A and B GnuGK 2.2.6 pdf manual, pp 61-64 Paul E.
