Lorenzo

I am the author of pacphone and a developer on GnuGk.

If you are using GnuGk 2.3.1 with H.460.18/.19 support there should be no
need to do any port forwarding in the DSL router.

The ports PacPhone uses are in the PacPhone INI (properties window > about)

UDP RTP 5011 - 5100
UDP RAS 5000- 5010
TCP Signal 4000 - 4050

Bandwidth video 327 kb/s (H.263) + audio 15 kb/s (iLBC)

There are no special settings required other than username/password and the
IP,DNS or SRV (h323rs._udp.) of the GnuGk gatekeeper.

GnuGk as a min must be compiled with H.460.18/.19 and have it enabled in the
INI. (H.460.23/.24 would be a bonus)

If you experience a problem in pacphone contact me offlist to assist in
diagnosing the problem.

Subject: [Openh323gk-users] GnuGK & h323 Clients bandwith specifications

Hi to all,
i intend to explore the use of "GnuGK" using "PacPhone" as H323 client.
Testing should involve approximately 10 clients located in different places
of the city.

But i need to provide specifications regarding the connectivity & any
systems configuration needed for a proper use.
Someone can give me advice on how much bandwidth is needed and if you have
to keep open particular ports on the dsl-router (for a audio and 352x288
video call)?

Also happens to you that if there is not enough connectivity bandwidth the
endpoint "PacPhone" crashes?

I'd like to have some feedback from those who have developed solutions that
are currently fairly stable
Thanks for the help!!
Lorenzo
