Hi
Ive been "lurking" on this list for some time now. I am planning on
giving a talk on open source software in medicine here at Yale (in early
May). What I hope to do is find out all the different open source
medical software that is available and then present them by category,
eg:
1. medical records/practice management
freemed
circare
littlefish
GEHR
Tk/Family Practice
? others
2. education/patient simulation
3. expert systems/diagnostic tools
pathmaster (developed here at Yale)
?others
4. medical imaging
5. medical information databases
pharmacy, diseases, terminology, etc
Any other topics or suggestions would be most welcome as would pointers
(literally) to various web sites, mailing lists, etc. that discuss or
demonstrate these various types of efforts.
Thank you in advance.
There was one other thought I had, perhaps completely off the wall but I
wanted to at least get some opinions. Would it make sense to create our
own linux distribution (perhaps at www.medicalinux.org) that would come
bundled with all of the above open source medical software?
