Two years ago world bank asked the development organizations to help
them with their exposure program: Future world bank managers would
live on week in a very poor ambiente, so they could learn about what
they are managing afterwards in their high-managment offices. Of
course we were asked to be careful to select a sane place where the
risc for health or live of the future world bank manager would be low :-]
Although I feel that this initiative has its pro's I couldn't warm up
my heart for it.
But of course I would happily arrange for Andrew to come here to,
let's say, stay at Len University/Medical Faculty about two semesters
or so. Of course I would rent him also my telefoneline so he could
continue participating on the mailing list :-)
Ok. serious now.
1st) It would be a honor have you visiting us, and *maybe* in a year
or too I could arrange for some talks on different
Universities. Would you come?
2nd) Actually I am trying to get interest for OIO. this week I had the
oportunity to participate in a "virtual classroom/talkshow"
experiment with students of the Managuan University of
Engineering (UNI), My topic: Health Sector and Information
Tecnologies. I will look to get an OIO Server installed on UNI,
maybe they want it as a graduate project.
It was very pleasant for me to count with the wealth of
information you all provide here on the list, it is invaluable
what all of you contribute. I want to express my thanks, because
with this background I could create a lot of interest in the
"young" generation (I am ALSO young though, ever ;-)
Saludos cordiales,
Jorge-Len
