Hi Yigang,
Thanks so much for sending the SynEx mediator slides. I thought I
understood the SynEx methology before but now realize I was wrong.
Specifically, I thought SynEx required a more elaborate intermediate
schema (see
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg03076.html).
>From the slides of your presentation that you kindly provided, it appears
that the SynEx mediator is quite similar to OIO-Linkers (not yet fully
implemented)!
I reviewed the SynEx methodology earlier but did not have the benefit of a
SynEx insider on the OpenHealth list pointing out my errors. Since you
mentioned plans to make your implementation open source in the near
future, I decided to copy this message to the openhealth mailing list with
the hope that: 1) We can further understand SynEx by continuing the
"SynEx vs. OIO" thread on the openhealth list (see reference above) 2)
You will consider sharing your very important work (and much needed
expertise) with like-minded colleagues on the openhealth list.
I am a strong believer that open communications is the key benefit
of the open source/free software approach. I am eager to learn more about
your project and hopefully contribute to achieving our shared goal -
namely, "Integrating medical applications in an open architecture through
generic and reusable components" - Y. Xu, MC. Jaulent, P. Degoulet et al
Medinfo 2001. :-)
Best regards,
Andrew
