The signal-to-noise ratio for the openhealth-list continues to decline,
and I have to say that this decline is almost entirely due to the list's
most prolific poster, who displays a number of insufferable
characteristics which are not uncommon amongst the medical profession
(to which I belong, and thus I speak from personal experience in dealing
with colleagues as well as talking to myself in the mirror...).

I was about to unsubscribe, but rather than take that drastic step, I
have set up a filter in my e-mail client to send all messages from the
prolific poster directly to /dev/null (i.e. delete them). Hence, my only
exposure to that poster's thoughts will henceforth be when others quote
parts of his posts in their replies. This will prevent me from wasting
my time comtemplating (and mostly dismissing, but not always) the wisdom
of (fruitlessly) replying to his posts, since others will have already
done so. Yes, relying on others on this list to act as a filter for the
never-ending stream of posts from the prolific poster is admittedly a
selfish strategy, but I'm desperate...
