I'm trying to get Vista up and running on my Linux machine and am having the darnedest of time. I followed the instructions posted at http://www.linuxmednews.com/linuxmednews/1018974735/index_html and downloaded the files from http://hardhats.sourceforge.net/pub/steel/2.01/.
Everything goes fine until I get to step 19. When I do a D ^XUP I get the following.
Setting up programmer environment
Identity = ?
Answer with NEW PERSON NAME, or INITIAL, or SSN, or VERIFY CODE, or
NICK NAME, or SERVICE/SECTION, or DEA#, or VA#, or ALIASSo I have the following questions:
How do I get from here to the Eve menu?
Is there some way I can use this prompt to enter a new user?
Should I be using a Vista Distribution from somewhere else that the steel stuff at hardhats?
I follow what the Diamond and Platinum distributions are (from the hardhat's website) but where does the steel stuff fit into the picture (or is this the same as the platinum?)
Should I be using Cache instead of GTM? My understanding was that getting a full Vista system up on Cache could not be done on the freely available one user license.
Lastly are there some other resources that I can go to from more detailed installation instructions on the installation of a complete Vista system on GTM? is there an FAQ or Howto?
In any case, many thanks for any help on all of these questions.
Tom
