Perhaps this thread belongs in the "essence of science philosophy" list... nevertheless I gave up on "one right answer" after my children were born...they are both teenagers now. I have since relied on "curiosity" and the simple joys of exploration and discovery as primary motivators...it is a lot more fun for me and everyone around me.
