I'm afraid a very similar suggestion in another context and time met a firm refusal on the grounds of absolute requirement for control of anything with the Minoru trademark on it. I can see the point of that. > This presumes someone could get in touch with Minoru. I have done that, before Geneva, although the list was not a topic. My sense of the situation is that this is not a starter. Regrettably. > And that someone > from the list is brave / thick-skinned enough to moderate it ;) We _could_ have a moderated list. I personally prefer to depend upon members' good sense and manners, the occasional enunciation of a principle by someone respected, quiet words out of band, and if all else fails my personal mail filter rules. Moderated lists have their own characteristics, and the benefit in terms of presenting a face to the world we wish to encourage FLOSS in may be less than the effort and loss of speed of moderation and the sense of cramping our style. -- Adrian Midgley (Linux desktop) GP, Exeter http://www.defoam.net/
