Yes, they are OK, except that they are probably copyright Minoru and at the 
moment Minoru is unresponsive so we can't ask permission to use them. Thus I 
think they need to be re-written - but the intent is fine. Except that I would change 
all references to "health care" to just "health" or to "health and healthcare".

"Health care" cause public health people like me minor discomfort.

Ask for self-nominations and messages of support, identified with a specific 
subject line, closing 1 week hence. The three with the most support messages 
win. Voting limited to current list subscribers. I suppose this would qualify as an 
election in most countries (sorry, when someone says "election" I think of 
compulsory voting by all enfranchised electors, which is the system we use for all 
governmental elections here in Australia).

Not really. Sorry, my cable modem was fried last week by a lightning strike, and I 
am using very slow Web mail, which makes it difficult to check previous 
messages,  in the meantime until I can locate a new modem.
