Hi all,

here is a simple demo of how you can upload your scanned documents to your
remote server. This attempts to show how hxp makes all of these things very
trivial to implement (specially if you use python).

Please follow: http://hxp.sourceforge.net/demo_imgclient_scanner.html

Some notes to the client:

It is project neutral: every other application can take it to supplement
their packages. This is particularly true for webbased applications which
primarily rely on browsers as client. A browser offers lots of advantages but
admittedly it has limitations too. One of these is the image
capture/scanning. (of course you can create java plug-ins, if you like)

For your server, you need not worry too much about implementing the hxp server
protocol. If you only need the "aim-shoot/upload" capability, you need to
implement only a few proper procedures not all of the several dozens which
are now being proposed.
At the maximum only four procedures which are (again I emphasize) very
trivial.

Enjoy,
elpidio

ps. Thanks to Kurt Brauchli for developing the client.
