I spoke today with the medical director of the
anesthesia pre-operative clinic. Although in the future we will have a pre-op
system fully integrated with an enterprise wide EHR, the director has immediate
need for an interim system to record a full H&P with some check-lists for
general anesthesia. I spoke to him about an open source solution and he was
interested in adapting an existing Open Source EHR for this purpose. He
would be willing to make this investment even if it was completely stand alone,
although interfacing with our Siemens Invision Lifetime Clinical Record would
also be desirable as a secondary end point.
If list members could send me contact info (email,
phone) off-list and a couple sentences about your experience and a couple
sentences about your proposal, I will forward them to him to contact you. This
is very early and you would need to work with him to develop
specifications.
Also - thanks to all who responded to the request
concerning our RHIO. I will be collecting information and discussing with our
consultant.
