...my 2cents worth, with all due respect to our friends in IMIA/AMIA:

~ cost is a big barrier - first the cost of membership, then the cost of attending a meeting ~ developed world focus - not as much for IMIA definitely for many of the others
~ broad focus vs. focus on open source
~ membership requirements - IMIA has quite specific membership requirements, it is limited to organizations....hmmm....perhaps OSHCA could be a member of IMIA??

Will do. Wasn't even aware they existed.
Any point in having both OSHCA and IMIA OS WG as separate entities?
Should we aim for a joint conference to discuss this further?
