Let's be truly serious.
There are SERIOUS data integrity/data quality issues that OSCAR must
address before it is a contender ANYWHERE!
As soon as you start embedding complex data into relational structours
you start losing the ability to recover "information".
In the SPECIFIC instance of OSCAR, the act of creating PDF's as data
stores means there is no way to report back out of them so that data
quality/ data integrity can be verified.
If commercial applications were any better then it would be
embarrassing...however, because of the data quality issues surrounding
commercial applications....OSCAR is getting by with substandard
application quality.
I like David and the other FOSS developers/designers.
However, we should ALL be aware of the reality of data quality and
integrity if we (as a community) intend to overcome the commercial forces.
