Actually MC 0x20 i.e. the Shelf Manager should return 05h as well (PICMG
Extension Version 5.0) as per the MicroTCA specification, page 3-9 : "This
specification defines version 5.0 of the PICMG extensions. The Shelf
Manager, Carrier Manager, MCMC, and EMMC implementing the extensions as
defined by this specification report a value of 05h".

Hi Pierre,
Initial results look good
patch -p0 <mtca.diff
...
Results in
MC 0x20 is an ATCA MC, PICMG Extension version 2.2
MC 0x82 is a MicroTCA MC, PICMG Extension version 5.0
In this Chassis, there are separate SHM and MCH cards, so the above looks
correct.
Operation appears normal, except when hotswapping AMC cards, as the
inventory
and sensor RDRs disappear per the
Hot-Swap AT8020 no Sensor or Inventory
email thread.
Thanks!
Peter P

I should be able to write a patch this week. Which version of OpenHPI are
you using?

Subject: [Openhpi-devel] MCH microTCA support in ipmidirect
Hi,
Are there any plans to support the microTCA MCH in the ipmidirect plugin?
In response to a GetPicmgProperties command, a value of
0x05
is returned by the MCH. I believe this is specified in the MTCA Spec.
The function "CheckAtca()" checks for a value of 0x12 (per AdvancedTCA spec)
m_picmg_minor = (rsp.m_data[2] >> 4) & 0x0f;
m_picmg_major = rsp.m_data[2] & 0x0f;
if ( m_picmg_major == 2 )
{
Are there any plans to expand this for microTCA?
Thanks,
Peter Pothier
