Someone else already offered example code, but if the resource doesn't have the SAHPI_CAPABILITY_POWER capability, the call will fail. The capability is telling you whether HPI can power on/off the blade. It seems that if the system doesn't have the ability to do what you want, there's nothing you can do. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the question. If so, could you supply more information? It would help to know what particular hardware you're dealing with, which plugin, and the particular HPI capability (such as SAHPI_CAPABILITY_POWER above), and the call you're trying to use.
