Hi, if you play with mouse buttons on the text and the triangle icon in hpiview resource frame, you will see information and data displayed by hpitop, hpitree, hpisensors, etc
(1) Open a hpi session by single left mouse click on Open New Session (2nd
icon in hpiview left frame)
(2) hpiview opens a new frame showing resources discoverred. This new
frame contain list of discoverred chassis names. Each name is preceeded by
a triangle.
(3) Left mouse click on chassis name, hpiview opens *another frame*,
displaying that resource static info: ResourceID, EntityPath, Capabilities,
etc
(4) Left mouse click on the triangle, will expand or collapse that resource
addition children resources.
(5) Right mouse click on *text*, hpiview shows a drop down menue for that
particular resource dynamic data. For example, right click on a
temperature sensor will give you option to go read the sensor value, if the
sensor is readable by the particular plugin used.

Hi there,
Thank you for your reply. I’ve got hpiview open a new frame showing
resources discoverred. But it does not display any information at all. None
of the information form openhpi command line command hpitop, hpi tree and
hpisenor. It’s good to have hpiview GUI to display such information. It’s
easy for us to view. Thank you very much.

hpiview does not automatically start a session. The user needs to Open New
Session (2nd button in hpiview left frame)
(1) ./hpiview/hpiview ... start hpiview application. It opens a hpiview
window.
(2) Select DEFAULT domain by single left mouse click on DEFAULT
(3) Open a hpi session by single left mouse click on Open New Session (2nd
icon in hpiview left frame)
(4) hpiview opens a new frame showing resources discoverred.

Hi there,
How are you? My name is Yisi Zhang form Star Intellect. We have get command
line working, but some problem with using openhpi view GUI. I’ve got GUI
connected but no information display. We are running ubuntu 8.04 on VM
player have hpiview2.0 and openhpi-2.12.0 installed. The openhpi command
line is working but the openhpi view GUI is not.
Can you please tell me what is wrong? And where that I can fix it? Thank
