Andy -
Thanks for the update and the all clear sign. Now if we just get a handle on
Anton's latest defect discovery/proposed patch - I think we're really close to
releasing 2.15.0.

Revisiting my test results with openhpi 7113:
1) hpifan doesn’t show any fans, but hpitop shows 9 fans.
This is ok because hpifan only applys to fan controls with output type
SAHPI_CTRL_FAN_SPEED.
So hpifan does not apply to these systems.
CLOSED – no change
2) The Fan RDRs are grouped under the drive backplane rather than the
baseboard (?).
This is due to the fact that leftover RDRs are lumped under the last RPT,
apparently.
There may be a better way to do this within ipmidirect, but it doesn’t change
any functionality.
Not Important – a minor style issue, no functional impact
3) hpitop and hpitree show several RDRs from Power Supply 2 under Power
Supply 1 instead.
This turned out to be an error in the IPMI SDR, not an HPI error.
CLOSED – no change to openhpi
4) hpipower failed to reset the system, and hpireset also got an error.
Both hpipower and hpireset –r worked after a 2nd try. Perhaps it was still
initializing.
CLOSED – cannot reproduce
5) hpiinv returned the FRU data for the baseboard (sa=0x20) instead of the
front panel board (sa=0xc0).
This was an old problem, not something new.
This should have been handled in
ipmi_mc_vendor_intel.cpp/cIpmiMcVendorIntelBmc::ProcessFru by SetAddr().
That code executed as designed, but did not have the desired effect.
Not Important – a pre-existing issue, only on certain plaforms
So, I’m calling this a PASS for the 7113 code with ipmidirect.

I’m testing 7113 with ipmidirect on rack-mount servers, and most things work.
A few exceptions:
hpifan doesn’t show any fans, but hpitop shows 9 fans. (?)
The Fan RDRs are grouped under the drive backplane rather than the baseboard
(?).
hpitop and hpitree show several RDRs from Power Supply 2 under Power Supply 1
instead.
hpipower failed to reset the system, and hpireset also got an error.
I haven’t looked into the detail yet to know if these are utility, daemon, or
plugin issues.

Greetings again --
Just wondering if anyone in the community is testing the IPMIdirect plug-in for
the 2.15.0 release?
Here at HP, I've been testing the simulator, dynamic simulator, oa_soap, and
ilo2_ribcl plugins. I have very limited resources for testing the IPMIdirect
however. Please let me know if you are testing IPMIdirect. Thanks.

Hello Everyone -
I'm back in the office - and I've been testing svn revision 7113 this morning.
So far - everything is looking very good.
I suggest (and Anton Pak concurs) that we start with 7113 as a release
candidate for OpenHPI 2.15.0.
Unless there are strong objections, or some pending commits that I do not know
about - we'll proceed along these lines.
The goal is to release 2.15.0 by the end of this week.
Regards,
Michael Bishop

Subject: Starting release cycle for 2.15.0
Uli -
Thanks for commiting your changes. I will start building/testing revision 7111
today.
Everyone: We are now officially in the release cycle for 2.15.0. Please
download and start testing 7111. Defect fixes are allowed, as are very minor
(very low-risk) enhancements. Please have changes peer-reviewed before
commiting them.
The plan is to test/fix defects the rest of this week and all of next week -
and attempt to release the week starting on June 28.
As a reminder, I will be out of the office next week (June 21 - 25) - so I
won't be bugging you - but you all have your assignment. :-)
Cheers!
