A couple more comments while coding up the reassembly: struct ib_mad_recv_buf contains struct ib_mad *mad. I'm wondering if it makes sense to change this to a union of ib_mad *, ib_rmpp_mad *, ib_vendor_mad *, ib_smp *, ib_sa_mad *. Currently, the user casts the returned MAD to the correct format. This would be a minor, but visible change to all current MAD users...
