iSER is a new IETF extension to iSCSI allowing it to run over native RDMA transport replacing the slow TCP transport. The session will describe the new iSCSI Datamover layer, the iSER transport module and its relations with iSCSI and InfiniBand, the standard mapping from iSCSI/iSER to FC and to iSCSI/TCP. The session will also review plans for upcoming releases of iSER, and discussions on progresses made in the areas of incorporating iSER into the iSCSI-Linux project, the latest iSER RFC work in the IETF and iSER integration with upcoming kernels and OS distributions.
