I'm calling using this routine in the rdam_cma code as well. I call it to get the local net_device before calling neigh_lookup(). I could call neigh_lookup_nodev() instead.

And pass it arp_tbl?

Yes.

But I think this does lookup by destination address, while
what we are trying to do here is a device lookup by source address.
Am I mistaken?

For the code that I'm referring to, which hasn't been committed yet, I'm trying to lookup by remote address. I was handling the code differently based on whether or not I was given a local address.
