It's not a stability issue. We wanted to make sure that the user to kernel interface was correct before pushing anything upstream. At the time the decision was made (a couple of months ago), this made sense, and the ABI has changed since that time. It would be nice to know that there are at least a couple of applications using the userspace library before trying to push anything upstream. I know that DAPL is using it.
