-------- Original Message -------- Subject: [members] OASIS completes ANSI Accreditation to develop Standards designated ANS Date: Tue, 2 Apr 2013 11:02:05 -0400 From: Scott McGrath <[email protected]> To: Members <[email protected]>
I am pleased to announce that OASIS is now accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). OASIS Standards are now eligible for American National Standard (ANS) designation. ANSI Accreditation is independent confirmation that the OASIS Process and infrastructure adhere to the globally-accepted principles of transparency, balance and openness that are the ANSI Essential Requirements. ANSI is the latest well-known standards organization to formally recognize the OASIS process; others include the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC1) of ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) OASIS members are encouraged to consider the benefits of ANS status for their specifications. The process for submitting for ANS designation may be engaged for all specifications developed in OASIS - past, present and future. The specific steps necessary to submit work in compliance with the ANSI Essential Requirements are recorded in the ANSI Addendum to the OASIS Liaison Policy.
