Subject: Re: [External Sender] Re: ***URGENT ACTION***: EC Vote on ConnectID
Pilot

Hello all

I have now heard a "Yeah" from all 5 members of the EC with voting rights so
the Resolution is unanimous in support.

On this basis, the Resolution passes, and I will take action to put the
Resolution into effect as instructed.

Gail

-----Resolution on ConnectID Pilot For EC Email Vote ------

  * Whereas ConnectID is a member of the OpenID Foundation and has directed
$135k in funds to support FAPI 2.0 test development in 2022,
  * Whereas ConnectID seeks to direct funds to close additional gaps in their
launch year ecosystem design, and they will be one of the first ecosystems to
deploy several specifications (FAPI 2.0, CIBA, Federation, and OID4IDA)
  * Whereas ConnectID is one of the first deployments to combine multiple
specifications into a single test suite, and is one the few private ecosystems
proposing to have both OP and RP mandates to conform to certification,
  * Whereas ConnectID prefers to leverage OIDF certification instead of
reverting to building their own in house test and certification functions
  * Whereas standard OIDF pricing could incentivize behaviors that are not
aligned to our Mission and Vision especially when entities need to test two to
four OIDF specifications in a bundle,
  * Whereas a pilot to explore an alternate pricing model can benefit
ConnectID, its ecosystem participants, other private and public sector
ecosystems considering adopting our specifications and certification program,
and in so doing support the OIDF vision and mission,
  * Whereas ConnectID and OIDF see the benefits of a strategic relationship,
including ConnectID upgrading to a Sustaining Board membership level to ensure
consistent participation in the Strategic Direction of the OIDF,

Resolution

  * The EC resolves to pursue the ConnectID Pilot, as per the full
description below, which includes five distinct components:

     * A clear term of no more than 1 year, especially on pricing
     *   Sustaining Membership
     * $100k of Directed Funding to close gaps in OIDF test suites
     *   ConnectID Pilot pricing
     *   ConnectID Profile support
The EC empowers the Executive Director to enter into a Directed Funding
agreement that encompasses solely the Directed Funding portion of the Pilot
Scope, and to publish this Resolution online, as per standard Executive
Committee practice for transparency to community members.
