I'm trying to replace openindiana 151-a8 nvidia driver with NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-173.14.38.run (to have Nvidia FX5200 support)
oi-151a8 failed uninstalling driver/graphics/nvidia # LC_ALL=C pkg uninstall driver/graphics/nvidia Creating Plan pkg uninstall: Cannot remove 'pkg://openindiana.org/driver/graphics/nvidia@0.319.17,5.11-0.151.1.8.1:20130825T181904Z' due to the following packages that depend on it: pkg://openindiana.org/x11/server/xorg/driver/xorg-video@0.5.11,5.11-0.151.1.8:20130305T151745Z It looks like a wrong dependancy : nvidia needs xorg but xorg doesn't need nvidia. A tried the following dirty workaround : Extract package file : # sh NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-173.14.38.run -x then # pkgadd -d NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-173.14.38 The following packages are available: 1 NVDAgraphics NVIDIA Graphics System Software (i386) 173.14.38,REV=2013.08.28.15.05 2 NVDAgraphicsr NVIDIA Graphics System Device Driver (i386) 173.14.38,REV=2013.08.28.15.05 Select package(s) you wish to process (or 'all' to process all packages). (default: all) [?,??,q]: It overides driver files and works with some warning ... _______________________________________________ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
