Hi.

I have a picmg 2.16 chassis with a few cards in it.

I need to query one card (lets call that target card) from another card
(lets call that host card).

I used ipmitool to get sensors and some more info on the host card, so I
know that it works to at least some extent.

I am getting errors when trying to query the target card.

I try the following: (ipmitool version 1.8.6 and 1.8.8 yield the same
results)

[EMAIL PROTECTED] yan_b]# ipmitool -vvvv -I open raw 0x20 0x00 0x1f

RAW REQ (channel=0x0 netfn=0x20 lun=0x0 cmd=0x0 data_len=1)

RAW REQUEST (1 bytes)

 1f

Set IPMB address to 0x20

OpenIPMI Request Message (1 bytes)

 1f

Sending request to System Interface

Unable to send RAW command (channel=0x0 netfn=0x20 lun=0x0 cmd=0x0
rsp=0xc1): Invalid command

What I am trying to do is send command 0x00 with data 0x1f to target
card at address 0x20 over i2c.

I'm not that much of an IPMI expert, and all I need is some simple
functionality, so I admit that I do not understand this stuff to its
fullest.

If someone could help me or at least guide me to the place where I can
get answers, I would really appreciate that.

Btw, I am using linux 2.6.18.5 with the latest v39.1 openIPMI patches on
i801 chip.

Regards
