Hello,

I'm trying to use ipmi kernel driver on a HP Proliant ML110 G3.

As I see the latest openipmi supported kernel is 2.6.18, so I use a
2.6.18.8 (from kernel.org). I patched it with 2.6.18-v39.1 ipmi driver.

I got this:

# modprobe ipmi_si
FATAL: Error inserting ipmi_si
(/lib/modules/2.6.18.8/kernel/drivers/char/ipmi/ipmi_si.ko): No such device

# dmesg
IPMI System Interface driver.
ipmi_si: Trying SMBIOS-specified kcs state machine at I/O address 0x4e,
slave address 0x0, irq 0
ipmi_si: Interface detection failed
ipmi_si: Unable to find any System Interface(s)

#dmidecode
Handle 0x002B, DMI type 38, 16 bytes
IPMI Device Information
Interface Type: KCS (Keyboard Control Style)
        Specification Version: 1.5
        I2C Slave Address: 0x00
        NV Storage Device Address: 0
        Base Address: 0x000000000000004E (I/O)

Maybe my BMC is not supported yet?

regards,
Gabor
